Trying to eat cleaner without breaking the bank?

The terrifying truth is that our food is contaminated with pesticides.  While eating organic foods does not completely remedy the problem, it is a step in the right direction.  Unfortunately, “organic” often translates into “wow, that’s a lot of money!”  As consumers with budgets, most of us are forced to choose between saving a few dollars, and eating a little cleaner.  For those of us who find ourselves making this choice in the grocery store, below is a list of fruits and veggies that are notoriously high in pesticides and should be substituted for the organic option without reconsideration. You will also find some “safer” items that are common to most grocery lists.
